Our Electromagnetic Brake 250 ensures stable wire tension during production runs, including ramps up and down. Stable wire tension eliminates elongation risk and keeps resistance of your wire within the limits.
The brake is a unit that gives the wire constant, adjustable tension and is typically used between a flyer pay-off and the line. The brake can be used for a wide range of conductors, such as solid, stranded and bunched copper conductors, as well as insulated wires.
It comprises an integrated steel frame and cover, a transparent door, one braking pulley and a deviating pulley. The braking pulley is coupled to a magnetic powder brake which gives the adjustable braking force. The friction needed between the braking pulley and the wire is accomplished by a pressure belt. The machine also includes a latch-type wire break detector.
