High productivity, accurate tension control

Our Fiber Pay-off PM 305 is designed for high line speeds. The machine construction is balanced for speeds up to 1000 m/min. The unique frame design makes it possible to utilize a small fleet angle. This reduces the tension variation also with wide reels and ensures a maximized productivity of high quality loose tube.

Description

The pay-off is a high speed fiber pay-off for all kinds of fiber optic secondary coating lines. One frame has 1 to 6 reel positions. The fiber tension is controlled accurately with pneumatic dancers. By default the reels are behind doors. This improves operator safety at high speed lines.

A small fleet angle reduces the tension variation. This makes it possible to run standard 25Ð50 km reels as well as future 100 km reels. Automatic traversing is available as an option.

Technical characteristics

Reel weight, max. 10 kg
Reel diameter, max. 310 mm
Reel width, max. 170 mm (non-traversing)
Reel reel width, max. 280 mm (traversing)
Production speed, max. 1000 m/min
Tension range 0.3 - 3 N
Weight 700 kg
Reel rotation speed, max. 2200 rpm

Exact values depend on the assembly.

Options

  • Automatic traversing reels
  • Tension measurements for reel(s)
  • Fiber length measurement
  • Static electricity discharger

Taking the Turn with Tubes for EV

12.2.2024

The move from Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) vehicles towards ones driven by alternative energy sources is in full swing. Nations have targeted a complete phase out in 2050 with an end for all new cars in 2035 (i.e. the Declaration of Glasgow). Several countries have undertaken more aggressive measures to accelerate the transition, notably Norway and Singapore. Hybrid, battery and fuel cell Electric Vehicle (EV) production is gearing up in factories around the world. The arrival of the new technology is sending waves of change along the entire supply chain.
