Our Triple Crosshead ECH 200/240 3L is specifically designed for jacketing of HV cables. The head can apply on a cable core in co-extrusion an inner layer of adhesive compound, a HDPE jacket and an outer layer of semi-conductive compound.
The high performance and user friendliness of the head are achieved by combining smart design, close tolerances on all parts and balanced distributor geometries. The inner and main distributors are of conical design and the outer layer distributor is a radial type. The materials used for the crosshead parts are made out of nitrided steel and stainless steel.
The head is supported by a frame fixed to the floor in front of the extruders. To remove the screws of the extruders, the crosshead should be lifted from the frame. A handling system for the distributors is included. It facilitates handling and cleaning of the relative heavy distributors and reduces drastically the risk of distributor damage during assembling and disassembling.
All three extruders are at line height. The inner and main layer extruders are positioned in V-shape and are entering the crosshead in the middle of the body. The main layer extruder is positioned at 90° from the cable centre line and the inner layer extruder downstream under an angle from the cable centre line. The outer layer extruder is also under an angle and enters the crosshead upstream just before the die.
