MV, HV and EHV cable

Turnkey solution for factory joint processing and manufacturing

Missing flexible factory joints to qualify your submarine cable system?

This technology package enables the manufacturing of the submarine cable factory joints that otherwise typically takes years to develop without pre-existing technology.

Flexible factory joints are generally used when the required delivery length is longer than the maximum XLPE or lead extrusion length. Having the right set of equipment and consumables is critical to assure high quality processing and manufacturing of factory joints especially for EHV submarine cables. They also ease the manual labor associated with factory joint manufacturing.

Technical report, focusing on the thermal, electrical and mechanical design of vulcanizing joints for MV and HV XLPE submarine cables. The necessary machinery and tools are also described.

Training, including:

  • 2 days of theoretical training
  • 8 days of practical hands-on training with Maillefer experts

Information package on the degassing procedure of vulcanized XLPE factory joints

Each complete factory joint technology package is sold as a model line with all the correct options for a specific product.

Perfect Control of the Cable Position in Your CCV Line

16.9.2026

Over the past 30 years, Maillefer has delivered and started hundreds of catenary continuous vulcanization (CCV) lines globally. We can confirm that successful cable quality needs a perfect interaction between all the various components in a CCV line. To that end, Maillefer and Sikora GmbH, invented a means for securing the cable quality for both past delivered CCV lines and those to be delivered in the future. They named the device Siccon 600. State of the Art Fiber Feeder

2.9.2026

The productivity of an optical cable manufacturing line can be significantly improved by increasing line speed. The buffering process has introduced entirely new limits for these speeds, making the start-up procedure increasingly important. A rapid ramp-up to production speed may generate substantial scrap before the process stabilizes. Read more
