MV, HV and EHV cable

Reduce risks of entering new market segment

Looking for faster and safer transition into submarine cable production?

Submarine power cables have very demanding requirements. Learn about the design elements and manufacturing steps needed for high quality design and manufacturing of HV and EHV AC and DC submarine extruded cables.

This training is particularly useful for established power cable manufacturers who are looking to enter submarine cable production. The training describes the necessary design elements and manufacturing steps needed, and elaborates on the main risks associated with each of them. It also covers electrical routine testing and the mechanical testing facilities needed for reliable testing of submarine cables.

Five days of classroom training according to the technical manual

The technical report consisting of:

  • Keystone-shaped conductor design
  • Compacted conductor design
  • Extruded XLPE insulation design and manufacturing
  • Degassing of extruded XLPE cables
  • Lead sheathing
  • Armoring and outer protection
  • Turntables and coiling
  • Mechanical testing
  • Electrical testing
